Regional Workshop
Regional Workshop
days until the 2011
The 2010 Region 3 Workshop was a resounding success!!! Thanks to our presenters, our Keynote Steve Watts, the workshop planning committee, and everyone who attended. This year 129 interpreters enjoyed choosing between 28 excellent presentations, attending one of three phenomenal offsites, socializing at a variety of evening events, and exploring the wonderful sights and sounds of Asheville and Western North Carolina.
Congratulations to our award winners:
Mike Adams - Outstanding Service to Region 3
Jason Chadwell - Outstanding Interpreter
Katie Hicks - Outstanding New Interpreter
This year, four lucky individuals attended the workshop at no cost (registration and lodging provided) due to Region 3's scholarship fund raising efforts. This year's silent and live auction netted over $2,300, meaning we will once again be able to offer scholarships to new interpreters next year. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who donated and bid on items this year.
This year's committee went to great strides to reduce waste. All evaluations were done online, as well as all presentations were made available to participants via a sharepoint site (no paper handouts or copies). Additionally, all registration was done online, name tags were recycled from last years workshop, and all socials were within walking distance of the hotel. We hope everyone found these changes to be great improvements.
